Every Bride Needs a Groom (Brides With Style, #1)Lucie’s Review:

Katie Fisher is planning her wedding. Her boyfriend might not have proposed yet, but why pass up the opportunity of a lifetime to win the dress of her dreams? On the same day that Katie wins, her boyfriend, Casey, get’s a new job, and breaks up with her because he wants to be free to focus on her career.
Will she be able to claim her prize without a groom?

Katie Fisher has a large family, and on Friday night they get together at Sam’s Buffet, her three brothers, mom, pop, and her grandmother, that everyone calls Queenie.

Brady James is a pro basketball player, but after a knee injury he finds himself sidelined and using his charm and people skills at his mom’s bridal shop, while she goes to Paris for a year.

I love how the ladies of the bridal shop welcome Katie with open arms, and share with her the codes that they have for the different kinds of brides. I loved how her brothers came to the shop and found something they weren’t expecting 😉

Overall, this is a fun read with many funny twists, that I don’t want to give away! What a fun book, the characters were warm, and I like their family and how they all relate to one another. This is a wonderfully charming read, and I enjoyed every minute of it!

Two events a and b are independent if the knowledge that one occurred does not affect the chance the other occurs. These concepts are all very tricky but upon learning by example these probability concepts are actually very simple.

Probability Decision Tree Decision Tree Probability

If two events a and b independent then p a b p a p b.

Independent vs mutually exclusive. It can t be both. Clearly the roll of a die must result in a number that is either odd or even. For example the outcomes of two roles of a fair die are independent events.

P a b p a p b for example when choosing a ball at random from a bag containing 3 blue balls. Mutually exclusive events are represented mathematically as p a and b 0 while independent events are represented as p a and b p a p b. Mutually exclusive vs independent events in mathematics the probability between two events bears some characteristics like mutuality exclusivity and dependency.

Independence of events means happening of a does not affect the happening of b. If two events a and b mutually exclusive then p a b 0. Two events are independent if the following are true.

Difference between mutually exclusive and independent events mutual exclusivity of events means there is no overlap between the sets a and b. In a venn diagram the sets do not overlap each other in the case of mutually exclusive events while if we talk about independent events the sets overlap. Is the mathematical symbol for union.

B the roll of a die is even. P a and b p a p b. A the roll of a die is odd.

For two mutually exclusive events a and b the probability of either one occuring p a b is the sum of the probability of both events. Independent and mutually exclusive do not mean the same thing. Two events are said to be mutually exclusive if they can t both happen at the same time.

Here are two events that are mutually exclusive.

Elements just to the right of the line exhibit properties of both metals and nonmetals and are termed metalloids or semimetals.

Nonmetals located on the periodic table. The only exception to this is atomic number 1 hydrogen h which has a different location on the table. Nonmetals have properties opposite those of the metals. Non metals are characterized by having the exact opposite properties of metals.

The exception is hydrogen h the first element on the periodic table. At ordinary temperatures and pressures hydrogen behaves as a nonmetal. See full answer below.

Nonmetals on the periodic table the nonmetals are located on the upper right side of the periodic table. Nonmetals are separated from metals by a line that cuts diagonally through the region of the periodic table containing elements with partially filled p orbitals. The nonmetal element group is a subset of these elements.

Nonmetals are located on the far right side of the periodic table except hydrogen which is located in the top left. Except for the elements that border the stair stepped line the elements to the right of the line are classified as nonmetals along with hydrogen. The nonmetal element group consists of hydrogen carbon nitrogen oxygen phosphorus sulfur and selenium.

Non metals can be easily located on the periodic table because they are to the right of the line that looks like a stepping ladder. The nonmetal elements occupy the upper right hand corner of the periodic table. Specifically they are located after the stair set of metalloids.

Elements to the far right of the periodic table are nonmetals. B si ge as sb te po. The nonmetals are located on the right side of the periodic table after the transition metals and metalloids.

These elements have similar chemical properties that differ from the elements considered metals. Looking at the periodic table the nonmetals are located on the right side of the table except hydrogen which is the first block on the top left. The nonmetals are located in the right of the periodic table and only one hydrogen is located in group 1 period 1 asked in chemistry where on the periodic table are the non metals located.

My Hope Is Found (The Cadence of Grace #3)My Review:

Picking up right where the last book leaves off.
Gideon is on his way back to the wife of his heart, Lonnie, after Cassie releases him from his vows. But the road back to Lonnie is far from easy.
Meanwhile, Lonnie tries to move on with her life, and has come to rely on Toby McKee, the handsome Scottish Preacher, in Gideon’s absence.
After everything that’s happened, who will Lonnie choose?

A beautiful and satisfying end to Lonnie and Gideon’s story.

My Hope is Found was one of those rare books that I really loved, but took me forever to finish. I kept putting it off because I just didn’t want it to end!

Ms. Bischof weaves a poignant tale of redemption set in the Appalachian Mountains, that glides along seamlessly making it a book difficult to put down. Though in my case it was so good that I kept intentionally stopping myself from finishing it because I didn’t want to say goodbye to the characters just yet. Definitely a series that I will have to re-read.

One of my characters was Toby McKee, I tried not to like him when I read the last book in the series, but I couldn’t resist. This book made me like him even more, for his honorable, honest, and protective nature, as well as his strong faith. I’m hoping for a spin-off series, maybe about Toby and Cassie?

Overall this was the perfect conclusion to the Cadence of Grace Series, even more than I could have asked for. The characters are continually growing and changing, this book I felt focused on Gideon in particular and his journey towards faith and becoming a man after God’s heart. One of my favorite things about this book was the great dialogue, verbal, and non-verbal, so much was communicated just in the little details. I know that I won’t soon be forgetting Lonnie, Gideon, Cassie, and Toby. You won’t want to miss a single book in this fantastic series!

4 reflecting telescopes suffer less from aberrations than refracting telescopes. The eyepiece is usually inserted into the diagonal.

The Main Difference Between Refracting And Reflecting Telescopes

A refractor needs a sizable mount to manage its large weight whereas a reflector normally would use a simple counterweight.

Reflecting telescope vs refracting telescope. The main difference between refracting and reflecting telescopes is that refractor is using lenses and reflector is using mirrors. A refractor telescope uses convex lenses to harness light magnify it and deliver it to your eye. Compare this to a reflector telescope which consists of 1 a tubular body.

The objective lens the main lens captures the light and is nabbed again by the eyepiece lens at the light s focal point. The smallest telescopes are often designed to use lenses but in most cases mirrors are more affordable when using larger telescopes. The construction of a refractor telescope is relatively easier and simpler than a reflector telescope.

4 a viewing mirror holder and. 2 an objective mirror. For centuries there has always been the ongoing debate of reflecting vs refracting telescopes.

Telescopes are classified according to the method of how they focus the image into the eyepiece. A basic refractor telescope consists of 1 a tubular body. When it comes to a physical construction cost comparison between a refractor telescope and a reflector telescope there is one obvious fact.

Reflecting telescopes use mirrors to gather the light. Manufacturing costs of lenses are higher than that of mirrors which make them more popular. Refracting telescopes use lenses to focus light while reflecting telescopes use mirrors.

2 refracting telescopes require a much purer material than reflecting telescopes. So let s have a first look on refractors because they are way older than reflectors. I will explain how they actually work and all their pros and cons.

You see an example of a refractor telescope in the picture. A mirror in a reflector normally sits at the base of a telescope and can be fully supported. To know which one is best for you the functionality or purpose of the telescope comes into play.

This one is mounted on a tripod. 2 an objective lens and 3 an eyepiece. Astronomical refractor telescopes usually have a diagonal in the light path that bends the light through a 90 degree angle to place the eyepiece at a more convenient position.

3 a viewing mirror. Telescopes are designed to focus light using refracting lenses or reflecting mirrors. There are different kinds of reflectors but in general the refractors all follow the same basic design.

3 reflecting telescopes can be made much larger than refracting telescopes. There is a size limit to this. 1 reflecting telescopes use mirrors while refracting telescopes use lenses.

The scoop on refractors. Refracting telescopes use lenses.

The tragedy of the commons is often brought up when people discuss environmental issues. Here are ten examples of the tragedy of the commons. The grand banks are fishing grounds off the coast of newfoundland.

For centuries individuals companies and societies around the world have been operating plants driving cars and using chemicals that have a serious impact on the ozone layer. Tragedy of the commons scenarios are numerous to some degree most of us participate in one or more each day. Buying goods we don t need can steal resources away from future generations and impact the environment from which they are taken.

In the united states the agriculture industry uses 50 billion gallons of groundwater every day. Global warming is arguably a perfect example of the tragedy of the commons theory. For centuries explorers and fishermen described this region as home to an endless supply of cod fish.

For example suppose you want to convert the mixed number. In order to convert an improper fraction into decimal divide numerator by denominator in long division method.

Convert Mixed Number To An Improper Fraction Math Fractions

Convert a ratio to a decimal.

How to convert improper fractions to decimals. An improper fraction is a fraction where the numerator top number is larger than the denominator bottom number. Convert a fraction to a decimal. Follow these 3 steps to convert a mixed number to an improper fraction.

Then multiply the decimal you get by 100. 3 5 2 17. Before you study how to convert improper fraction into decimal you are advised to read what is improper fraction.

Divide the numerator by the denominator. Multiply the denominator of the fractional part by the whole number and add the result to the numerator. Divide the numerator by the denominator.

Convert proper and improper fractions to decimals. To convert an improper fraction to a mixed number which is made from a fraction and a whole number like 2 3 4 divide the numerator by the denominator. First multiply 3 by 5 and add 2.

To an improper fraction. Write the whole number answer next to a fraction with the remainder in the numerator and the original denominator you now have a mixed fraction. As you work on converting improper fractions you ll find yourself using your knowledge of division.

You can also multiply the improper fraction by 100 and then divide the numerator by the denominator. To convert an improper fraction to percent start by dividing the numerator by the denominator. This calculator shows the steps and work to convert a fraction to a decimal number.

Then add a percent sign and you re done. Use this result as your numerator and place it over the denominator you already have. You can convert between mixed numbers and improper fractions without changing the value of the figure.

If the division doesn t come out evenly round the decimal off. If the fraction is a mixed number change it to an improper fraction. The improper fraction has a numerator larger than the denominator.

Write down the whole number answer. Converting improper fractions to mixed fractions to convert an improper fraction to a mixed fraction follow these steps. In a fraction the fraction bar means divided by so to find the decimal equivalent of a fraction.

Paste this link in email text or social media. A mixed number is a whole number plus a fractional part. And mixed numbers have a whole number sitting next to a proper fraction for example 4 3 6 or 1 1 2.

Finally add a percent sign to the end of your answer. Then write down any remainder above the denominator.

For Such a Time as This: A Women of Hope Novel

Lucie’s Review: Slow to start, but a great ending.

Olivia Moore’s family is suffering from the drought, barely able to put food on the table, when Olivia gets the opportunity to work as a nanny for banker Eli Whitman and his two rowdy boys. But when the town begins to speak against her, she finds herself facing marriage to Eli in order to save her reputation. Can a marriage of convenience become a marriage of love?

This book started off in a fun interesting way, but then slowed. I guess I found the situation rather unrealistic, because Olivia’s reputation should have been fine because Eli had a cook who was always there. But besides that I liked the book, Olivia was able to form strong bonds with the two kids. For most of the book, I guess I was wondering when Olivia and Eli’s relationship would pick up because for most of the book they really weren’t together.

The Esther allegory didn’t come in till about over halfway, and it was kind of funny because it was like “Aha! That’s why its called, For a Time Such as This!” Because for the longest time I didn’t really see it.

Overall I guess I would say that this book was slow to start, but had a very climatic ending, full of action. I felt like it took awhile for this book to really get where it was going, but after I got past that I came to enjoy the story. There’s a little mystery and I liked how the Esther theme played out. I really liked the way that Olivia handled the kids and how she won their hearts, in my opinion Olivia bonding with teh kids was probably the winning relationship in the story. So in the end a great book, after I got past the slow beginnings and tidbits I found hard to believe.

I received this ebook from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thanks!

Belonging (Where The Heart Lives)

My Review: This one is quite possibly my favorite book by Ms. Hatcher so far. This book has it all, with an engaging, yet traditional story line that moves along swiftly and characters that move you, and easily draw one in.

Felicia is a schoolteacher in Idaho, during the late 1800’s, determined to help her students learn. But there are some things–and people that stand in her way. What can she do to gain the trust of the town, and convince them to let her stay?

Well written, and very engaging, I loved this book from the get-go.
I was aurprisedd at how much I liked all three of the main characters, because often I only like one or none of them, but this time I loved them all! Each of the main characters was well written, with their own unique backstory. I was intrigued and drawn in by every single one of them. though if I had to choose which one I liked best I’m going to say that I really liked Kathleen and her story alot 🙂 The side character were also amazing, though, of course I had to dislike the villian 🙂

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this story, it was exactily what I wanted out of this sweet romance. The plot was excellent as were the characters. The plot moved steadily, even to the point of keeping me up late! For me it was the perfect book at the perfect time and I enjoyed it immensely, and will most certainly be recommending this book 🙂

Final Rating: 5 out of 5.

I received this book from the publisher in return for an honest review, which I have done my best to express here. Thanks 🙂

Nanomaterials and bulk materials are the two major types of particles. They offer protection and can be rubbed in so they block harmful ultraviolet light from the sun without white marks on the skin.

Nanoparticles Against Cancer Cells

Nanoparticles are used in sunscreens.

Difference between nanoparticles and bulk material. The key difference is related to the size. Nanoparticles are of great scientific interest as they are effectively a bridge between bulk materials and atomic or molecular structures. They differ from each other according to their size.

Nanoparticles often have different properties than the bulk material due to increased surface area which results in higher reactivity quantum effects which alters the electrical and visual. Properties affected by grain size melting point sintering temperature hardness etc will be different between thin films with nano size grains and bulk material with grains 100nm. The influence law is consistent with the bulk materials.

The surface thermodynamic functions and the surface heat capacity of nano ceo 2. The key difference between nanomaterials and bulk materials is that the nanomaterials have their size in 1 100 nm range at least in one dimension whereas the bulk materials have their size above 100 nm in all dimensions. This is because as the temperature rises the lattice of nanoparticles expands and the force between atoms weakens causing the surface tension of the nanoparticles to decrease.

And these spectra in nanoparticles differ from bulk materials. The simplest physical model of a quantum size effect is an electron in a quantum well with infinite potential barriers. In bulk material the physical properties are independent of its size but when yo go to nanometer scale it could be totally different and dependent on.

Nanoparticles are so small they contain just a few atoms to a few thousand atoms as opposed to bulk materials that might contain many billions of atoms. This is because it contains titanium dioxide nanoparticles which are so small that they do not reflect visible light so they cannot be seen. This difference is what causes nano materials to behave differently than their bulk counterparts.

A bulk material should have constant physical properties regardless of its size but at the nano scale this is often not the case.

'Til Grits Do Us Part (Southern Fried Sushi #3)

My Review: Love, mystery, and a wedding in the South!

Shiloh Jacobs is preparing to start her life with Adam, her knight in UPS brown, when mysterious red roses start showing up everywhere and strange connections begin to come to light.
Will Shiloh be able to marry the love of her life while dodging the advances of a stalker, and finally come to terms with her mother’s death?

I loved how the characters aren’t perfect and Shiloh was very relatable in that not everything went right for her, and at times it felt like nothing would go right for her! But Shiloh struggled at times to trust and have faith.

I loved all of the characters along with their fun quirks. One of my favorites is Becky. I really liked Adam and how he honestly wanted to do right by Shiloh, and didn’t want to kiss her til they were married 🙂

Overall, a wonderful and fun read with stellar characters and a great setting, a wonderful conclusion to Shiloh’s Southern Fried Sushi Series. This series is unique in that while it’s quirky, it still is surprisingly relatable all at the same time! A delightful series that I would definitely recommend, though they are best read in order 🙂

She honestly portrayed her family (with some names changed, of course, and 10% of it altered) but it gave me a glimpse into Ms. Hudson’s close knit family, that in a way is just like every family with it’s mishaps, yet full of love.

I loved the warmth with which this book was written and the way I felt like I got to see little glimpses of her family’s lives and what shaped them and were little adventures into their life.

Overall a great heartwarming collection of recollections from Ms. Hudson’s life, stories of faith, hope, and love. I book I would happily recommend!

I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!

I don’t know about you but I’ve been pretty busy this summer, working, visiting relatives, attending a cousin’s wedding, getting ready for school, going to a Josh Turner concert, spending time with friends, and blogging, I can’t believe summer is almost over!

But the impending end of summer isn’t all bad, though there are some serious drawbacks, like having to go back to school (for those of you who don’t will be completing my second year of Dental Assisting training this coming fall and spring). But there are many perks to it as well, such as the return of my favorite TV shows like Doctor Who for one 😉 It will be a busy nine months to say the least, as I will be juggling my part-time job, school, AWANA, blogging, choir, and hopefully still making time for friends and reading 🙂

As far as I know I will still be blogging, but right now I’m playing it my ear, as I’ve already got a handful of titles set for review this September as well as a fun giveaway that may be in the works 🙂

So in anticipation of my future crazy schedule I am challenging myself to a 12hr reading challenge to see how many books I can knock off of my currently-reading pile, would you believe that I am in the middle of 5 right now?

I will post an update sometime during the challenge and then again afterwards. Tomorrow you will probably see some reviews as a result 🙂

Do plants reproduce sexually or asexually. Flowers contain the reproductive structures. The advantage of asexual reproduction is that it allows successful organisms to reproduce quickly. Plants reproduce both sexually and asexually.

Sexual reproduction is similar to human reproduction which involves the fusion of the male pollen and female ovule. Many plants reproduce asexually as well as sexually. Plants reproduce sexually through the fusion of male and female gametes in the flower.

Plants reproduce either sexually or asexually. Just like people reproduce to create baby human plants also reproduce to create baby plants that grow into adult plants. Most plant species either engage in both sexual and asexual reproduction or contain populations that have adopted asexual reproduction such as in taraxacum officinale glémin glatier 2012.

Some farmers use vegetative propagation as an asexual way to grow new plants that are the same as the original plant. Plants either reproduce sexually or asexually depending on the type of plant. How do plants reproduce.

Grafting layering and micropropagation are some methods used for artificial asexual reproduction. Reproduction means to produce another living thing of the same kind. The new plant is genetically identical to the parent plant from which the stock has been taken.

Selfing plants have ovules that are fertilised by pollen grains from the same individual. When plants reproduce asexually they use mitosis to produce offspring that are genetically identical to the parent plant. Sexually as well as asexually.

In sexual reproduction two germ cells or gametes fuse to create the beginning of a genetically unique offspring. Stamens male and carpels female. Look at these videos and websites to find out more about sexual and asexual.

In asexual reproduction part of the parent plant is used to generate a new plant. One of the reasons that asexual reproduction in plants is so studied upon is the capability of plants to reproduce at a faster stage using cells from any plant part. For plants to survive they need to reproduce.

Plant reproduction comes in two types. Stamens produce pollen grains which contain two sperm cells while carpels contain the egg cells. Seeds develop following pollination and fertilisation fusion of the male and female gametes.

In asexual reproduction a plant cell splits in two to create a genetically identical offspring. Asexual reproduction is through stems roots and leaves. Part of their success is due to the fact that they can reproduce both asexually and sexually.
