Lucie’s Review:
When train robbers attack a train bearing orphans west, the children find themselves stranded in Evan’s Grove, Nebraska, along with schoolteacher, Holly Sanders. Since they aren’t going to be going any further down the line, the whole community pitches in to find the children homes within the community.
Holly and Mason are were two very different characters and I loved watching Mason’s heart change and realize that he didn’t have to lock everyone one out.
There were some really great side characters in the children, and the townspeople, especially that busy-body Beatrice!
It was a sweet story and I loved how the author really included the townspeople and didn’t just focus on a few characters. And I liked how I wasn’t really sure how it would all work out in the end, because it was a bit unpredictable.
Overall, a rather sweet story, with more to come in the series, that I will definitely be watching for.
I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thanks!
Lucie’s Review:
This book is the conclusion to the six part series by Colleen Coble, Emmie and Isaac come to terms with the secrets between them, and three brave couples find their way on the wild Wyoming frontier.
Full of faith, friendship, and history, I loved how the women banded together to support each other through hard times, and how they stood by their men, though the future was uncertain. It’s a story about friendship and bravery, packed with action and adventure, drama, and a great conclusion to the series, packing a lot into a rather small book.
Overall, a great conclusion to a great series, that brings Wyoming history to life, and I loved how each of the books has a stunning picture on the cover.

My Review:
Violet Lindstrom has settled on serving in the Red Cross after a broken engagement and being turned down for a position as a missionary overseas. She longs to serve children, not grown oafish men, with their crude jokes and coarse ways.
Lt. Adler Paxton is determined to prove his mettle as an ace with the 357th Air Force Fight Group, he understands the planes and has a knack for flying. But he is also running from his past, he can’t let himself forget the night that he tried to kill both his brothers, driving one way, and betraying the other. Despite his best efforts he is drawn to the statuesque blonde, with her love for the local English children and dream of missionary work.
A powerful tale of WWII valor and the battle fought in the air, as well of faith, family, friendship, and forgiveness.
A powerful story of faith and forgiveness on the front lines. I don’t know how she does it but every book by Sarah Sundin is better than the one before–every single one of which I have given five stars! This book checked all the boxes for me, I am really fascinated by aviation during WWI and WWII and was thrilled that Adler takes to the air in this amazing installment in the Sunrise at Normandy Series. There is a strong message of faith, and family. Adler and Violet as surrounded by a fantastic circle of friends, and meet each challenge before them with determination, despite setbacks.
Violet makes the best of a situation that to her mind is less than ideal. She is clever, determined, and compassionate, she has her moments of temporary defeat, but that only made me like her more. I love how she grows in her faith, and comes to see how God brought her to the Red Cross to make a difference. She has a love for children and gift for encouragement.
Adler is haunted by his past, and the falling out with his brothers. He holds himself responsible for everything that happened. He is a man of character, he struggles with pride, and in many ways is a man of contradictions. I loved his journey in this book, and how his heart is slowly changed, yet he is honest about his callings, and a natural leader.
Engaging and extremely well-researched, fast-paced and compelling, I can’t wait to read Clay’s story. I loved the camaraderie between the men, especially Adler’s friendship with Nick. Violet is an admirable heroine, I loved how she grew from being aloof and defensive to more honest with herself and compassionate, learning discernment, trusting God with everything. There is so much to love about this book, but what stood out the most to me was the strong faith and character of Adler and Violet. I enjoyed seeing Dorothy and Wyatt again, and the next book can’t come soon enough for me. Highly recommend this action packed and compelling read!

Lucie’s Review:Blue comes racing to their rescue, when two little girls come asking him to come and help their mother. When he finds that they have nowhere to stay, he offers them shelter on his ranch.
Clara is creative and finds ways to help out and work for their keep.
Will this unlikely bunch become a family for Christmas?
I love how kind Blue was to the girls, and made and effort to include them and make time for them.
Both Blue and Clara have hard pasts and they find that they share that, and that they don’t have to bear the burden alone, and sometimes life doesn’t go the way you had planned, sometimes it’s better!
Overall, this is a well written story, heartwarming, and filled with great characters, and fantastic dialogue. Both Blue and Clara must take charge of their futures, and find hope. A wonderful Christmas Eden Valley tale, definitely one worth the read.

Lucie’s Review:
Eliza Gentry and Wyatt Creed become fast friends as children driving cattle on the Chisholm Trail, but after a horrible tragedy heir friendship is severed.
Nine years later Eliza is engaged to her family’s enemy, and her father has hired detective John Brady to keep her safe while she is staying in New Orleans with her treacherous fiance, Ben. Can she escape the trap that she’s fallen into?
A fast paced read filled with surprises and twists along the way, there was a lot going on in this cross country adventure. John is an admirable man, quick to action with a measured response to things. He is very responsible and takes his duty seriously, keeping the secrets that he pledged to keep.
Eliza is somewhat sheltered and impulsive, but her heart is mostly in the right place. She longs for higher education and wants to pursue more than just marriage.
I loved Eliza’s cousin Justine, she is just the most adorable little girl, she has had to mature quickly and is quick-witted.
Overall, a highly enjoyable story with great characters, and a fast moving plot. I loved the humor and interaction between Eliza and Brady.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
